REFINED, BLEACHED & DEODORISED (RBD) PALM OLEIN
As Palm Oil is naturally semi-solid at room temperature (20OC), the liquid portion can be physically separated from the solid portion by fractionation. The liquid fraction is known as Palm Olein while the solid fraction as Palm Stearin.Refined, Bleached and Deodorised (RBD) Palm Olein is suitable for frying and cooking, which its main applications include salad and cooking oils in households, industrial frying fat of instant noodles, potato chips, doughnuts and condensed milk. Palm Stearin is used in the formulations of trans fat-free margarine, shortening and vegetable ghee.
Palm Olein can be further fractionated to produce Palm Super Olein (CP6), which is a more liquid fraction. It can withstand a lower temperature than palm olein (CP8 and CP10) before it clouds or solidifies.
RBD Palm Olein is cholesterol-free and contains Vitamin D and E. It has high stability to oxidation and is nutritionally healthy with a balanced composition
Because of its fatty acid composition and good oxidative stability Palm Olein CP6, CP8 and CP10 are excellent to be used as liquid cooking oil and all the more suitable for frying. Apart from its high quality performance, the added advantage is it does not alter the taste or flavor of fried food as it does not have any distinct fragrance. Moreover, it leaves the meal completely dry with no dripping of oil.
